ok i prove it to myslef that im very lazy on updating this Blog..but here i am again…

so recently i finished making a Tv comercial for airing in europ and maybe some other places….its for BOMBA Drink…i made some backgrounds,and a heavy blast shot in maya,rendered it the way t looks like Comic images and then used Digital Fusion for compositing every shots and the Whole clip…in this one,i used the 3d tools of fusion in every shot,which are amazing tools for every compositors,this way i could setup the whole scene in fusion without needing to use a 3d software,and it saved me lots of time.. . . . i’ll post the address of the whole clip later cause im not allowed to upload the whole thing right now. . . . .and the pic above is a snapshot of it…..and its full 3d,exept for the fire in the right

and the good news for me,i’ll officialy start making my own animation on wednesday…so i’ll put lots and lots of stills and WIPs here,and ofcoarse on CGtalk….

so…it’s been a long time since my latest post…i just find myself too lazy posting in any weblog but this is something i better do here till i upload my own website…… many things has happend since the last post and i’ll tell some of them

1-our animatin (the lost puppet) won the third best animated film in tehrans international animation festival…..i think we deserved more,because some of the winners only won because of theire big names,not by theire quality…..but it was a good thingto win at least……and the film showned there wasnt 100% complete.the music isnt finished yet ….and i guess i’ll be called to go back and rerender the final cast and crew pages for the music team…..the film isnt online yet but as soon as the studio uploaded it in theire website,it’ll post it here

2-i started working on a music video..i hope it’ll become great….im the technical director and the visual effect supervisor and the art director as well as the animator…better to say its a one man team heheee….all the film was shot infront of a blue screen….in some shots i chose the green screen as well and it was my first time working with the chromaflex screens….they look realy good to work with.specialy in the Tele shots…they can be chromakeyed very easily and clean…… i must make all the backgrounds in CG which are mostly color painted and adding some cg effects to some actors,like adding glassy wings to them in motion…most of the shots are happening in a painting and the director wants it to be like van gogh paintings…and it makes it a little hard …putting a live character into a painted farm with camera movements and animated brush paterns is a very complicated thing to do..specialy if each shot is about 300-800 frame…so many many unexpected problems can occure and do occure…..actualy i’ve done most of the shots…and hope it’ll be over till the next month….gonna upload some WIP images soon

3-and i finished making a full animated tv commercial…so i had to pause the music video for a while,i mean for a very short time….cause you may know,most of the commercials have stupidly short deadlines..i had two weeks to make he whole thing..making two high detail Benz and a samand car…plus a medium detailed highway and tonnel……for this one i used Side effects Houdini for its fast and powerfull render engine ; Mantra……And it was my first project fully made in houdini ,it asnt so easy at all but worth tryin, i mostly managed to do the compositing and lighting effects it in Digital fusion…so i did some very simple but fast renders,then changed the entire shot in fusion using diffrent pases like oclusion and normal passes,which i’m getting more in Love these days…..i put a snapshot for the first render and final resault in the top,i hope i had more time so i could make it look better,but things arent always as we like them to be

oki…i’ve been busy for some time working on several projects…being involved in production of two short animations and a TV commercial,made me so much busy that i couldnt even work on my personal projects,but they are over now,and some how im happy cause all of them became great…

the first one was a short animation named “LOST PUPPET” for the RAIAVIN studio,in which i was the CG supervisor,and also responsible for the Character riggings,dynamic simalations,lighting,shading,renders,some animations and the 2D post process composites…i also workd on the overal composition of the images and objects as well which was absolute fun……the hardest part on this film for me was the wires which were tied to the characters and should have realstick movements,so i had to develope some curve dynamics system whom i could import and export into defrent scenes….technicauly not much hard but practically,,,,like HELL……

i also had to come up with a riging structure which allowed my animators (who had never used 3d) to be able to animate some difficault and complicated moves..some parts had some HIDE keys and SHOW keys,switching between multiple parental objects and even some times be disconeccted from the character,,,and what made it harder was that the animatores had no experiences in 3d before,,they were amazing 2D animatores whom had their first steps into 3d so i had to manage tthe rigges as easy as possible,,,,,AND GOD..when it came to renders,it was a nightmare,,i always found some hiddnen,duplicated objects or even joints all over the scene and had to clear them all so my renders wont BLAST away….;-)

but after all when i saw the final film with music and all that,just felt relaxed,,,…….oooooo gosh it finished at last……

the team was great,my good friend and director “moeen samady”,our animation supervisor “amir savadkoohi” and my new friend “mehran sanei” who did the modelings…and my long time friend “minoo janmohammadi” who was the production manager…just wanted to congradulates every one involved….

Mother’s Day

so finaly, today i saw my latest full animation commercial for Mothers day on some satelite channel…its been aired for some time but i could never catched that…you know,when you spend days and days on something and saw it finished you think like : “mmmm….no its not good…the animation needs some tweaking here and there and the textures/shaders/lights are not good at all..mmm yeah i could do better” …but after i saw it on tv today i was like “mmm,not bad at all….at least i can do better in next ones”,and i had only 18 days to do all of it,from modeling to animations and hours and hours of render times…..freelancing is sometimes hard when you have to do things like this all by your own,at least thanks to our good friends at Pixar for making Pixar renderman sooooo Fast,if it wasnt for that tool,i was still on renders,incredibly fast and amazing software……..
gotta prepare mself for upcoming commercials feauting the same cuty robot…..at least the other ones are not Live action and i can get rid of camera traking and light matching,,,,,,

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII all…this is my first CG weblog ever and i dont know where it’ll end up…so there we go……
